It’s about time Congress did something to protect the tenant when caught in a foreclosure they had nothing to do with. It’s Senate Bill 896 (Helping Families Save Their Homes Act of 2009) signed into law on May 20, 2009. Title VII of this act is called PTFA…everything is an anacronym. The new law can be found at http://www.combslawgroup.com/NewsDetail.aspx?NewsId=20 Certain criteria does exist for the law to benefit the tenant and to be “bona-fide” you must pass a litmus test of basically four different criteria.
